Building a Log House

Raising the Addition – Paul Sorfleet and Wade Robillard stand on what will be the second floor of the addition. The cinder block foundation for the entire house is complete. The weight of a log building rests entirely on its four corners. The odd log on the addition must be replaced because the corner has rotted out. Corner joints are cut on a slight angle to help lock the logs together and to ensure that any water that might get in the joint runs out of the building rather than inside.
